If you’ve seen the Panther Valley Sports Field recently, you’ve probably noticed a few colorful changes to the field.
In addition to pink highlights at the 20 yard lines and a large ribbon painted at both field goals, a white and blue helmet (with the number 3 on it) and wings could be seen drawn at the 50 yard line.
Working with the PV School District, a number of individuals came together to spread awareness for both breast cancer and obsessive compulsive disorder.
The pink was done in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, while the No. 3 helmet was painted to raise awareness for obsessive compulsive disorder via the Bo Tkach Foundation.
“I am so proud to have been born and raised in the Panther Valley, to live in the Panther Valley and work in the Panther Valley,” said volunteer Lisa Hiles on Facebook. “I am equally proud of those contributed to make our football stadium what it is today. If it weren’t for a diligent school board, an awesome maintenance staff and last but not least the loyal taxpayers of our area – we could not enjoy a football game in such a beautiful place. Go Panthers!”
Volunteers stated their appreciation to Smokey Krajnak, who is in charge of the sports field, as well the school district for their support.
