
An online Times News story reports that Zachary Hess, 28, of Brockton, succumbed to his injuries after crashing his/her motorcycle around 6 PM today (Friday, August 8, 2014) along Lafayette Avenue (SR54) – near the west end of Hauto Highway.
It adds that Hess, driving a Honda Gold Wing Aspencade, apparently failed to negotiate a curve, resulting in it plowing through tall grass before eventually hitting trees on the side of the road.
Hess was found in the woods, critically injured, and rushed to the hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Responding were Rush Township Police, Hometown Fire Company, Tamaqua Rescue Squad, Quakake Fire Company, Tamaqua Ambulance, Lehighton Ambulance and others.
Hometown Fire Police closed the area from Lafayette Avenue to an area near Ye Old Hauto Road.
