possibility-of-ice-skating-rink-dutch-hill-park-tamaqua-1-20-2017-7Mary Linkevich, Director of Community Development, Borough Of Tamaqua, is working with members of the borough on a plan to turn the Dutch Hill Park basketball court into an ice skate park during colder winter months.
The plan involves fixing the court, sealing it, adding lighting and so on. Neighbors said that the park was used for years as an outdoor ice-skating rink, estimating about 20 years ago.
Linkevich added that the borough crews hope to get started on the plan this year.
If all goes well, Tamaqua will have an ice skating park by February of 2018.
The small park is located at the intersection of Clark Street and East Union Street.

  1. I remember growing up, skating down there. It looks like it’s taken a beating over the years, it may take some work but that would be great to have up there again.
