NO LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES DURING HEAD-ON COLLISION IN HAZLE TOWNSHIP CRASH (Dec. 22)

DELAYED POST: Emergency personnel were dispatched to Interstate 81 in Hazle Township early Tuesday for a head-on crash involving two-vehicles. The incident occurred around 2 AM near mile marker 141.
Information on the Hazle Township Fire/Rescue Facebook page reads, “At Approximately 2 a.m. this morning Hazle Twp. Fire and Rescue along with Medic 11 where dispatched to interstate 81 N in the area of mile marker 141 for a reported motor vehicle accident head on collision vehicle went the wrong way and went southbound in the northbound lane. We arrived in the scene to find two cars in the roadway with heavy front end damage and minor injuries. A dog who was a passenger in a vehicle jumped out and ran from the owner and we were unable to locate the dog which is reported to be a lab/pit bull mix she is black with white on her chest….. If anyone notices a dog matching this description in this area or on SR 424 you are asked to call the Hazleton animal shelter or PSP so they can get the dog back to its owner.”
