Emil’s Barber Shop received Lansford Alive’s Black Diamond Community Improvement Award during an appreciation dinner held yesterday evening at the social hall of the Lansford American Legion. The plaque reads, “In grateful appreciation of your efforts to improve the quality of life in Lansford.”
The late Emil Demyanovich, who has operated the barbershop in Lansford since 1947 in Lansford, started on Tunnel Street, and later moved his shop to the Miller building on Ridge Street. He acquired the property, which formerly housed the Miller Dress Shop.
Stay tuned for more information, if it becomes available.
