Tamaqua Area High and Middle School students and staff recognized all U.S. military veterans during a ceremony held this morning in front of the high school.
During the ceremony, members of the Schuylkill Carbon Marine Corps League Detachment 626 served as the color guard and honor guard, while members of the Tamaqua American Legion fired a three-volley salute during the ceremony.
Veterans Dale Kline, Quakake American Legion, and Paul Corinchock, Schuylkill Carbon Marine Corps League, raised the flag.
Tamaqua High School Jazz Choral (led by director John Buglio) performed a rendition of America The Beautiful, and members of the Tamaqua Raider Band (Faith Roberts and Aimee Hull) played Taps.
Also taking part in the program were TASD Superintendent Carol Makuta, Assistant Principal Thomas McCabe, THS Principal Stephen P. Toth, Tamaqua Jr/Sr High Concert Chorus, and others.
