SCHUYLKILL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM OFFERING FREE RIDES TO U.S. MILITARY VETERANS ON VETERANS DAY

PRESS RELEASE – (from Schuylkill Transportation System)  – The Schuylkill Transportation System (STS) announced that they will be offering FREE rides aboard all of their fixed route buses on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 to all Military Veterans.
In order to receive the free rides, veterans must present proof of military service to the driver upon boarding the vehicle.
The Schuylkill Transportation System operates ten fixed bus routes Monday thru Friday with limited Saturday service. There are currently over twenty two hundred fixed route bus stops within Schuylkill County. STS provided approximately 207,500 rides during the 2014-2015 year.
According to Brenda L. Zeckman, Veterans Affairs office, there are approximately 16,000 military veterans registered in Schuylkill County.
