Motorcycle riders with the 15th Annual Dream Ride were greeted by over 20 athletes from Special Olympics of Schuylkill County as they arrived in Hazleton on their 7-day benefit tour from Florida to Connecticut to raise donations for Special Olympics. Approximately 30 motorcycle riders arrived in pouring rain around 6:30 PM on Thursday, August 20, 2015 in at Hampton Inn in Hazleton. Their stop in Hazleton served as the only stop in the commonwealth.
According to the ride website (http://www.dreamride.org), their ride and other events raised over $1,353,000. Their mission statement is: “Using Special Olympics as our cause, raise the awareness and much-needed funds for people living with intellectual disabilities while inspiring our communities to overcome diversity, with all the achievements and accomplishments of Special Olympics athletes’ serving as an example.”
Daniel A. Zackus, Program Manager, Special Olympics of PA – Schuylkill County, stated his appreciation to the riders and all who support Special Olympic programs.

Editor’s Note: My Canon EOS Rebel T5i camera stopped working at the beginning of the event. So most of my photos are of poor quality since I had to use a camcorder to take photos.
