TAMAQUA AREA HIT WITH FLASH FLOODING; EMERGENCY RESPONDERS KEPT BUSY

Pictured are some photos taken today (Tuesday, June 30, 2015) following flash flooding that hit Tamaqua and surrounding communities early this afternoon.
Firefighters were kept busy pumping out basements at homes and businesses on Rowe Street, West Broad Street, North Railroad Street, and others.
West Rowe Street (between North Nescopec Street and Berwick Street) remains closed while borough crews investigate a raised section of road. The wabash runs under the street.
In addition to road damage and structural flooding, flooding spilled dirt, soil and thousands of gallons of rain runoff into the H.D. Buehler Memorial Bungalow Pool. (story)
