EMERGENCY PERSONNEL TRANSPORT INJURED MAN FROM CAMPSITE ALONG TRACKS IN TAMAQUA (June 8 , 2015)

After suffering a medical condition, an unidentified man at a campsite along train tracks in the southern section of Tamaqua was transported Monday night (June 8, 2015) via stretcher and pickup truck to an awaiting ambulance.
Emergency personnel were dispatched around 8:30 PM to the area of the Willing Skate Park in Tamaqua for medical transport assist. They were then directed to a wooded area located across the Little Schuylkill River from the park where two or three individuals were said the be camping out.
After reaching the campsite via the train trestle near SR309, emergency personnel secured the man, placed the injured individual on the back of a firefighter’s pickup truck for transport to an awaiting ambulance at South Greenwood Street. The man was then taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Coaldale.
Responding were Tamaqua Rescue Squad, Tamaqua Police, East End Fire Company, Tamaqua Ambulance, Lehighton Ambulance and others.
A nearby naighbor said multiple individuals, some possibly homeless, use that section around the train tracks for campsite or such.
