Members of various Carbon and Schuylkill county fire companies held an exterior firefighting class recently at the Tamaqua Fire Department’s training grounds. The classes focused on drills and ladders. Participating in the class were fire companies from Coaldale, Bowmanstown, Perryville, Aquashicola, Palmerton-Municipal, Palmerton-West End, Mahoning Township, Summit Hill, Kidder, Beaver Meadows, Parryville and Lehighton.
Instructors were Joe Greco from Lansford Fire Company, Keith Oliphant from South Ward Fire Company, and Kathleen Gauola from West End Fire Company of Mahanoy City.
