Pictured are a few photos from yesterday’s (Monday, May 4, 2015) brush fire response in Lehigh Township (Carbon County).
Emergency personnel from multiple counties were dispatched early yesterday evening to South Lehigh Gorge Drive across from Weatherly Country Inn. The fire, which scorched 25 acres, was located over a mile from the road.
Firefighters said a plane from Hazle Township was used to make multiple drops on the fire.
Responding were Lehigh & Lausanne Volunteer Fire Company (L&LVFC), Coaldale Fire Company, Quakake Fire Company, Hometown Fire Company, Tuscarora Fire Company, White Haven Fire Company, West Penn Fire Company, Harwood Fire Company, Delano Fire Company, Freeland Fire Company, Tamaqua Fire Department, Hazle Township, Hauto Fire Company, Weatherly Ambulance and others.
L&LVFC chief Tim Rossman and assistant chief Steve Kane stated their appreciation to all responding emergency services.
