Firefighters from numerous municipalities were quick to respond to a structure fire this afternoon (Saturday, April 4, 2015) in East Brunswick Township.
Emergency personnel were dispatched around 3:20 PM to the area of 70 Steep Mountain Road for a working structure fire. Firefighters arrived to see a large barn on fire.
Tanker trucks were also brought in to provide water to the site, which was located about 1,500 feet up a steep dirt road.
Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby house, located about 80 feet from the barn.
Responding were fire companies from New Ringgold, Walker Township, West Penn Township, Deer Lake & West Brunswick, Orwigsburg and others.
Fire police volunteers controlled traffic at the intersecting road (North Market Street).
No injuries were observed.
