The First United Methodist Church in Tamaqua held their annual Tamaqua-Panther Valley Songfest on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at their church. Festival was titled Deuch, Canwn I’R Arglwydd (Come, Sing To The Lord).
Represented were First Congregational Church in Coaldale, Zion Stone Church in New Ringgold, St. John UCC in Tamaqua, Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville, St. Patrick’s Church in Pottsville, United Methodist Church in Coaldale, St. Peter’s Church in Mantzville, New Life Assembly of God in Tamaqua, St. John XXIII Parish in Tamaqua, St. John’s Slovak Lutheran Church in Lansford, Trinity UCC in Tamaqua, and First United Methodist Church in Tamaqua.
Choir members consisted of:
Sopranos: Roxanne Farrell, Diane Derr, Donna Randall, Ann Evans, Norma Lee Burke, Ruthanne Feane, Kelly Surochak, Megan Jones Prock and Marilyn Price Felsoci.
Altos: Irene Hudasky, Barbara Koch, Janet Marshall, Nancy Ehrenfried, Carol Steigerwalt, Debbie Delp and Joan Hess.
Tenors: Bob Ames, Phyllis Lane, Delroy Steigerwalt, George Halcovage, and Dwane Miller.
Bass: Dean Daderko, Dough Betz, Mark Christ, Steven Christ and Chris Metzger.
Accompanists were Mark Christ (trumpet), Eric Raymond (trumpet), Dwane Miller (baritone), and Dylan Miller (trombone).
Following the event, visitors were welcomed to enjoy Welsh Tea and cookies in the church’s social hall.
The event committee (Marilyn P. Felsoci, Audrey Christ, Bob Ames) stated their appreciation to all who helped make their Songfest a success; to include the choir, accompanist, and those who made donations of Welsh cookies (Megan Reichelderfer, Janet Marshall).
