Members of the Panther Valley JROTC and staff from St. Luke’s Hospital & Health Network – Coaldale Campus spent time reading Dr. Seuss to students today (Friday, February 27, 2015) at the Panther Valley Elementary School in Nesquehoning.
March 2nd will serve as the 111th birthday for Dr. Seuss, as well as the 18th year of the National Education Association’s Read Across America program. Professional, parents, school staff and students throughout the country dedicate time each year around this time to focus on the importance of reading.
The year-round Read Across America program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources.
PV Elementary School Principal Mary Figura stated the school’s appreciation to the cadets and St. Luke’s staff for giving their time for the program.
