The 5th Annual Make-A-Wish Polar Plunge is being held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Deer Lake & West Brunswick Fire Company in Orwigsburg.
The event will also consist of a bake sale, chili cook-off and Chinese auction.
Staging and social gathering starts at 11 AM. Plunger jump teams will start at 1 PM.
The fire company and lake are located at 1 Ash Street.

February 28, 2015 at 11 AM at The Deer Lake Firehouse – hosted by The Auburn VFW Warriors Softball Team.
Join us and our polar bear for this icy challenge! We ask each jumper to raise a minimum of $50 to participate. Each participant must sign a waiver. Participants under the age of 18 must also have a parent sign the waiver. There is no age requirement though all are welcome just please use your best judgment call to jump Into our icy waters! Also everyone who raises the $50 will receive our awesome Ice blue polar plunge shirt!!!
At 11 AM – we have HOT soup, hot dogs, hamburgers, halushki, pierogies, cold and hot drinks, and all kind of baked goods available for purchase. Even if your not jumping how can you pass up on all this goodness!!! We will also have 50/50 raffles, basket of cheer raffle, and a Chinese auction. You may start to purchase tickets for all of these great events at 11am. The Plunge jumper teams will start at 1:00 PM. Once all teams or individual jumpers are done join us back inside The Deer Lake Firehouse to get warmed up with our hot food and beverages and make sure to get your tickets for the Chinese auction. The auction goes  off at 3pm and will feature many gift cards and other great things!
After all our festivities are done at the firehouse, come on over to the after-party hosted by The Deer Lake Pub where we will have a chili cook off, and our basket of cheer raffle will go off later in the night! The chili cook off is a favorite annual event that only costs $10 to enter. We have three prizes if you win… 1st prize $50, 2nd prize $25, and 3rd prize is $10.
There will be raffles going off and drink specials throughout the night. There is also going to be a DJ at this event.
All proceeds for these events go to The Make A Wish Foundation who assists on making all these wishes happen for these wonderful children who have life threatening illnesses.
Any local business who would like to sponsor us and have your company listed on the back of the shirt can send a check to our address for a minimal cost of $50. Also anyone that cannot join us that day but would like to contribute please make checks or money orders payable to: Auburn VFW Warriors c/o The Make A Wish Foundation 302 lakefront Drive Orwigsburg PA 17961.
Also if any participant that is in the MAW Softball league raises money, all proceeds raised gets credited to your team, and anyone who wishes to sponsor someone from another team can do so by letting the wonderful girls working the registration table know that the proceeds go to that specific team. All proceeds go directly to MAW it’s just our way of all these great women who play in this softball league friendly competition!
