DRIVER CRASHES INTO TREE AFTER LOSING CONTROL ON SLIPPERY ROAD IN DELANO TOWNSHIP

Car Crashes into Tree After Hitting Ice, Tamanend Road, Delano Township, 1-18-2015 (61)A young driver escaped serious injury this evening (Sunday, January 18, 2015) in Delano Township after losing control of his vehicle on an icy road and crashing into a tree.
Emergency personnel were dispatched around 7:30 PM to Tamanend Road/Delano Road for a single-vehicle accident with unknown injury.
Firefighters on scene stated that the vehicle appeared to go air born after striking a tree on the rear passenger side of the car. The vehicle, a Mercedes sedan, landed in an open field down an embankment.
Family arrived to take the driver home.
Responding were Quakake Fire Company, Hometown Fire Company, Ryan Fire Company, Ryan Township Ambulance, State Police and others.
Hometown Fire Police and others controlled traffic around the area.
Hope’s Towing removed the vehicle.
Numerous roads around our area were very slippery following rapid changes in temperature.
