ROAD CLOSED AFTER CAR CRASHES INTO POLE IN RUSH TOWNSHIP

Car Snaps Pole, Fairview Street, Rush Township, 1-16-2015 (50)UPDATE: Road is open as of 9 PM.
As of 8:30 PM tonight (Friday, January 16, 2015), Fairview Street remains closed just north of the Marian Avenue intersection after the driver of a car crashed into a pole and toppled it’s support wires.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene around 7:54 PM.
Damage shows that the driver was traveling north on Fairview Street when he struck guardrails and then a pole. The resulting crash snapped a support pole and laid low-hanging wires over the road.
A male driver of the vehicle was taken away in the back of a Rush Township Police cruiser.
Hometown Fire Police and firefighters have closed that part of Fairview Street until the pole and its wires are removed or repaired.
No serious injuries were observed.
Responding were Rush Township Police, Hometown Fire Company, Quakake Fire Company, Ryan Township Fire Company, Ryan Township Ambulance, and others.
