Tamaqua Boy and Cub Scouts with Pack 777 collected 1,431 pounds of non-perishable food for the Tamaqua Salvation Army. Donation bags were placed on porches and doors of Tamaqua residents on November 1 and picked up on Saturday, November 8, 2014. Scouts and scout leaders stated their appreciation to all who donated.
Tamaqua Salvation Army Major Sharon Whispell said the scouts are regular supporters of the Salvation Army. She added that the donations will help during the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas food distributions.
