The Tamaqua Salvation Army will be giving away over 250 clear student backpacks to area students starting 10 AM tomorrow (Thursday, August 7, 2014).
“There is no restrictions on income,” said Tamaqua Salvation Army Major Sharon Whispell. “Any area student can receive a backpack.”
The only items required to receive a backpack are student identification and birth certificate for each student.
The giveaway is first come, first serve. If you missed Thursday’s giveaway and if there are any left, stop by the Tamaqua Salvation Army (105 West Broad Street) Monday to Friday between 10 AM and 3 PM to receive a backpack.
In addition to the backpacks, students will also receive a limited number of school supplies, courtesy of the 12th Annual Schuylkill United Way Stuff The Bus program.
