“I’ve never heard so many Thank You’s“, said Tamaqua Fire Police volunteer Ed Sassaman, describing his positive interaction with hundreds of community members and visitors during yesterday’s (August 5, 2014) National Night Out held in Tamaqua.
Sassaman, along with other fire police volunteers, controlled traffic and escorted community members across North Railroad Street and Pine Street during the combined Tamaqua Salvation Army ‘Kidz Karnival’ and Tamaqua National Night Out events.
“Just about every person I helped across the street said thank you. Even all the younger ones,” he praised. “It really touched me to see the community come together in good spirits for a great cause.”
