According to PPL’s website, 8,130 PPL customers were without power today (Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014) in Schuylkill County following a power outage that affected numerous municipalities.
The power outage occurred before 1 PM.
PPL crews are out repairing problem areas.
Tamaqua’s power flickered  a couple times, but remained on.
Police over the scanner stated there was a blown power transformer on Peacock Street in Pottsville. Although, there is no official word if this was the cause.

They were:
– Cass Township: 15 customers out.
– Gordon Borough: 2 customers out.
– West Brunswick Township: 4 customers out.
