A woman was rushed to the hospital after being stabbed late last night (Sat. Feb. 1, 2014) in McAdoo (Schuylkill County). Police were called to 229 South Cleveland Street around 10:45 PM after a man allegedly stabbed his 19-year old sister at the home.
Scanner traffic stated the man, identified as Ralph Lucherra Jr., ran barefoot out of the home after the stabbing.
Police captured Lucherra a few blocks away inside a home along East Monroe Street.
A knife was also recovered about a block away near the intersection of South Cleveland Street and East Adams Street.
Responding were McAdoo Police, Rush Township Police, State Police and McAdoo Ambulance.
Police stated Ralph Luchetta Jr., 27, McAdoo, admitted to stabbing his sister two to three times with a set of brass knuckles and attached knife.
Luchetta was charged with numerous offenses; to include criminal attempt at homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and tampering with evidence.
The Standard Speaker states that Luchetta was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker, Shenandoah. Bail was set at $100,000. Luchetta was unable to post that and was taken to jail.
