POLICE RAID HOME IN TAMAQUA

Police Raid Home, 29 East Elm Street, Tamaqua, 1-31-2014 (2)East Elm Street, between Pine Street (SR309 north) and Rolling Mill Avenue in Tamaqua, was blocked off for a couple hours this morning (Friday, Jan. 31, 2014) while local and State Police raided the second floor of a two-unit home at 29 East Elm Street this morning. Neighbors said that they saw police carrying items outside in plastic bags, as well as placing numerous items on tarps. A nearby resident, who wished to remain anonymous, stated there were over dozen police cars on scene when the bust occurred.

“Warning: A clandestine laboratory for the manufacture of illegal drugs and/or hazardous chemicals was seized at this location on 01/31/14 by the Pennsylvania State Police. Known hazardous chemicals have been disposed of pursuant the law. However, there still may be hazardous substances or waste products on this property either in buildings or in the ground itself. Please exercise caution while on these premises. Apt #2.”
Police told reporters that Jacqueline “Jackie” Slaven, 38, who lives in the apartment, is charged with possession with intent to deliver meth, manufacturing meth, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She will also be charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Police said other arrests may be announced.
Officials cleared the scene around 11 AM.

  1. I find it sad and shameful that such a beautiful and tranquil area is in danger of destruction by drugs. I moved away 27years ago and wish I hadn’t because I am passionate about the battles I take on and would certainly have been in the middle of the fight to save our small towns from destruction. I have no close relatives left there and so I no longer have strong ties and that I will always regret ..but those of you still there Please! Stand up and fight off this destruction and give your kids the opportunity we had of no fears or worries !
