A woman was transported this evening to St. Luke’s Hospital in Coaldale after her vehicle’s airbag deployed after impacting a 6-inch roadside curb in Hometown. The incident occurred around 5:15 PM on an unmarked road just northwest of the Turkey Hill parking lot. There doesn’t appear to be much damage to the front of the vehicle.
Dispatched were Hometown Fire Company, Quakake Fire Company, Tamaqua Rescue Squad, Tamaqua Ambulance, Lehighton Ambulance, and Hometown Fire Police.
The scene was cleared of emergency personnel within 10 minutes. It was raining at the time.
