Members representing all Tamaqua fire companies spent time on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 teaching students at St. Jerome School important information relating to fire prevention and awareness.
Volunteers included members of American Hose Company, Citizen’s Fire Company, East End Fire Company and South Ward Fire Company.
Organizer Chris Hadesty (firefighter/paramedic)and others stated their appreciation to the American Fire Company of Lansford for the use of their inflatable fire house.
Mark Bower, Fire Chief, South Ward Fire Company, stated that all fire companies carry smoke detectors that can be given/installed for those that need them.
Smokey Bear also took part in the program.
