A man was injured yesterday (Thursday, September 17, 2015) during a two-vehicle accident on Clamtown Road (SR443) in Walker Township (near the border of West Penn Township).
Emergency personnel were called around 3:45 PM to Clamtown Road, at the intersection of Wildcat Road for a two-vehicle accident with injury.
A witness said a male driver of the pickup rear-ended the car and drove down a ditch and then into a utility pole. He suffered minor injury. A woman and man were in the car, which was stopped on SR443 while train cars passed. They were delivering newspapers. The male in the car suffered unknown injuries and was taken via ambulance to a hospital.
Responding were New England/Walker Township Fire Company, West Penn Fire Company, Tamaqua Rescue Squad, Schuylkill EMS, West Penn Police, State Police and others.
