Nickel Plate Road No. 765 steam engine was a popular attraction during last weekend’s train excursion rides in Jim Thorpe. The Reading and Northern Railroad No. 425 steam engine was also on-hand.
765 is a massive 2-8-4 “Berkshire” type steam locomotive built for the Nickel Plate Road Railroad in 1944 by the Lima Locomotive Works. in Lima, Ohio.
