The project involves replacement of a 12-inch main line, plus laterals to residences, from East Street to Fifth Street, plus new lines on Third Street, from Phillips Street to Howard Avenue.
Work is expected to continue for a few months, to include ripping the road back up and connecting individual lines to the houses.
Lansford/Coaldale Water Authority board secretary Robert Demyanovich updated the board on the status of the Phillips Street water line improvement during a May council meeting, adding that the project has been in development for 10 years.
The cost of the project totals approximately $695,000, with low bidde as Bellview Pump LLC from Walnutport.
