
According to online scanner Facebook information, a coroner is on scene of a motor vehicle accident on the Blue Mountain tonight (Friday, August 21, 2015) in West Penn Township. The incident is located just north of the Blue Mountain Summit Restaurant, 2510 West Penn Pike (SR309).
The information adds that emergency responders were dispatched around 10:20 PM for a sport utility vehicle 30-50 feet down an embankment.
An official said the vehicle was traveling north on SR309, when for some unknown reason, swerved right, struck a guardrail, traveled down a ravine, and hitting a large tree.
Aeromedical was placed on standby, but later canceled.
As of 11:30 PM, traffic is slow in the area and firefighters are directing traffic passed the scene.
UPDATE: The man was identified as Charles E. Tidabock, 67, of West Penn Township.
