Moving Chairs, After Dear Tamaqua, Father, Daughter, Gursky, Tamaqua, 8-4-2015
Sophia and Micah Gursky retrieve chairs following the ‘Dear Tamaqua’ event.

Pictured retrieving chairs following Tuesday’s ‘Dear Tamaqua‘ community and theatrical event are volunteers Micah Gursky and daughter Sophia Gursky. In addition to helping set up and tear down, the entire Gursky family played important roles in the event. Micah Gursky, who also serves as Tamaqua’s Borough Council President, served as a member of the ‘Dear Tamaqua’ leadership/founding committee. During the event, Sophia entertained visitors while performing belly dancing with Baretoes Yoga and Bellydance, while her brother Jacob “Jake” Gursky represented one of about 8 actors that performed ‘Dear Tamaqua’ letters written by 600 community members. Both Sophia and Jake are also members of Tamaqua’s League of Literaries (L.O.L.), which was founded to encourage creativity and writing in youth.
