At 3:10 PM today (Thursday, August 6, 2015), Tamaqua Borough and Water Department crews could be seen preparing to repair a water main leak under the 500 block of Pine Street (SR309) in Tamaqua. Water could be seen rising from a 60 foot crack in road. Repairs could last into the night.
Officials added that northbound traffic will be diverted onto Schuylkill Avenue.
There is no water boil advisory as of 4 PM.

UPDATE (9 PM):
A water boil advisory is in effect for a small portion of the Middle Ward section of Tamaqua. The boil advisory impacts parallel residents of the 500 and 600 blocks of Pine Street and 500 and 600 blocks of North Railroad Street.
Work is expected to be completed by midnight.
