Want to help the Tamaqua Salvation Army by being a carnival karny for a day? If so, members of the Tamaqua Salvation Army are holding a volunteering meeting on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 starting at 6 PM at the Tamaqua Salvation Army, 105 West Broad Street.
Salvation Army carnival volunteers, aka ,”karnies”, are needed to help during their second annual ‘Kidz Karnival’ set for Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the North Railroad Street parking lot (in front of the Tamaqua Train Station). Volunteers will be needed to man games, as well as help setup and cleanup.
The event will last from 2 PM to 9 PM. It is being held in conjunction with Tamaqua’s National Night Out and Dear Tamaqua event.
All proceeds from the carnival benefit the ongoing community efforts of the Tamaqua Salvation Army. There will be numerous rides, games, activities and food for kids of all ages.
“If you cannot be a Karny, you might consider sponsoring tickets for children who may not be able to afford to purchase their own or donate a needed item such as a tent(s) to shelter our various booths,” said Dina Depos, Development Associate/Programs Coordinator, Tamaqua Salvation Army.
For additional information about the event or to volunteer, call the Tamaqua Salvation Army at (570) 668-0410 during the day or (570) 668-1234 afterwards.
