In addition to road damage and structural flooding, today’s (Tuesday, June 30, 2015) flash flooding spilled dirt, soil and thousands of gallons of rain runoff into the H.D. Buehler Memorial Bungalow Pool in Tamaqua.
Pool manager Adrian Bumbulsky and assistant manager Matt Stanek said they will be working with every available pool employee to ensure that the pool is cleaned up and re-opened as soon as possible.
Tamaqua Public Works Director Bob Jones said borough officials will work with pool staff to open the pool quickly. He added that the borough hopes to have the pool back open in about a week.
Officials added that the closest incident of this size at the pool occurred in 2006.

UPDATE: Lansford Borough Council and Lansford Pool staff are welcoming all Season Ticket Pass Holders of Tamaqua’s H.D. Buehler Memorial Bungalow Pool to use their pool at no charge until repairs are completed at the Tamaqua pool. (story)
