The driver of a vehicle went missing early this morning (Friday, June 12, 2015) after crashing it into the front porch of a home along the 1100 block of Valley Road in Walker Township.
Emergency personnel were dispatched around 12:30 AM for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries. They arrived to see the strewn debris from the front porch of 1180 Valley Road and an unoccupied green Ford SUV disabled in an adjacent field southwest of the home. About 250 feet of tire tracks stretched from the porch to the vehicle.
The front porch to the home was still standing, despite having 3 of its 4 support beams knocked out from crash. The homeowner could be seen placing temporary supports to keep it from collapsing. The Ford suffered heavy damage to the roof and underbody.
Responding were New England/Walker Township Fire Company, Tamaqua Rescue, Tamaqua’s South Ward, Tamaqua Ambulance, State Police and others.
Emergency responders used their spotlights to search for the missing driver, with no success.
