Firefighters were quick to extinguish a working barn fire in Barnesville before it was able to spread to the rest of the barn. Emergency personnel were dispatched around 5 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 to the area of 225 Hillside Drive for a working barn fire.
Officials on scene stated the first fire truck on scene was able to put the fire under control.
Responding were fire companies from Mahanoy City, Hometown, Tamaqua, Quakake and others. Also responding was Ryan Township Ambulance.
Hometown Fire Police controlled traffic for the duration.
