The Coaldale United Veterans organization held their annual Memorial Day services on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the Seek Veterans War Memorial on Bull Run Street and at the Coaldale Veterans and Women’s Memorials along 3rd Street in Coaldale.
In addition, members of the Coaldale American Legion and Coaldale VFW Post participated in the service.
Welcome remarks were given by retired Army Sergeant Michael Vigoda.
National Anthem was sung by Panther Valley High School student Zachary Gilbert.
Invocation and benediction was given by Pastor Elisandra Garcia of the United Methodist Church in Coaldale.
Music renditions were performed by the Panther Valley High Band under the direction of Mark Christ.
Remarks were given by Coaldale Mayor Joel Johnson.
Reading the Gettysburg Address was OLAA Seth Fresel.
Reading Flander’s Field was Panther Valley High School student Noah Easterly.
Featured speaker was retired Army Major Gerald New.
Reading the names of honored veterans was retired Air Force Master Sergeant Nicole Paraschak.
Members of the Panther Valley JROTC provided the rifle salute and the playing of taps.
