Tamaqua Borough voted unanimously during the last Tamaqua Borough Council meeting (Wednesday, May 20, 2015) on a resolution to purchase the empty lot that formerly housed the Hosak Pontiac dealership along Center Street (US309 south) in Tamaqua.
According to a Times News article, it was purchased from the Hosak family for a PennDOT bridge replacement project completed in 2011.
The resolution permits the borough the authority to enter into a sales agreement to purchase the property for the fair market value (assessed at $22,400).
Borough council didn’t state any definite plans for the property.
