Members of the Rabbit Run Fish & Game Association stated their appreciation to all those who sponsored or supported their 47th annual derby earlier this month.
Association President William Weaver stated the dam was here since the gold rush and once provided all the water to Tamaqua. He added that the water from the dam was also used to fill the steam engines.
The dam, owned by the Tamaqua Borough and maintained by the association, sits in Walker Township.
Weaver added that donations will go towards dam repairs, new pavilion, and to replace items vandalized and stolen in the past year. Donations are still being accepted. Click HERE for more information on how to help or donate.
