ANTHRACITE REGION OF THE ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF AMERICA ANNOUNCE UPCOMING EVENTS; NEXT SHOW IS MAY 24TH AT NO. 9 MINE

Members of the Anthracite Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America (ARAACA) are celebrating their club’s 30th year as a region in 2015 with its 30th annual car show. Continuing tradition, they will hold five area cruises which enable the club to donate to worthwhile area causes.
The 30th Annual Car Show will be held Sunday, July 5, 2015 from 8 AM to 3 PM at the McAdoo Little League Field, Hancock and Grove streets, in McAdoo. Show is held rain or shine. During the event, a special participation award will be given to the first 200 pre-registered vehicles; special awards to best of show stock and best of show modified; dash plaques to the first 250 registered vehicles and special awards for all AACA senior and first junior automobiles.

Other events scheduled include:

– Friday, May 8, 2015 from 5 PM to 8 PM outside Lobitz Catering Hall, Route 940, in Hazle Township. Dash plaques to the first 50 cars. Cruising music and door prizes will be part of the event. Food will be available at the Lobitz Friday night buffet from 5 to 7 p.m. for a $2 discount per registered car for the buffet. All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hot rods and motorcycles are welcome. Proceeds will benefit the Community Services for Sight. For more information, call Joe at (570) 929-2017.

– Sunday, May 24, 2015 from 11 AM to 4 PM at No. 9 Mine & Museum, 9 Dock Street, Lansford. Event is rain or shine. Dash plaques for the first 50 cars. Cruising music and door prizes will be available. Food and drinks will be available (at the Old-Fashioned Miner’s Picnic). All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hot rods, and motorcycles are welcome. Flea Market space is available. Proceeds will benefit the No. 9 Mine and Museum. For more information, call Shawn at (570) 778-7905.

– Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 1 PM to 5 PM at Beech Mountain Clubhouse in Drums. Event is rain or shine. Dash plaques for the first 50 cars. Cruising music and door prizes will be available. Food and drinks will be available at the Beech Mountain clubhouse. All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hot rods, and motorcycles are welcome. Proceeds will benefit Hazleton Avenues Rehabilitation Partners (HARP). For more information, call Joe at (570) 929-2017.

– Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Laurel Mall (Route 93 entrance) in Hazleton. Event is rain or shine. Dash plaques for the first 50 cars. Cruising music and door prizes will be available. Food will be available at nearby restaurants. All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hot rods and motorcycles are welcome. – Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Moyers Campground in Hobbie (Wapwallowpen). Cheeseburger in Paradise and the Dog Gone Fabulous Oldies Cruise. Event is rain or shine. Dash plaques for the first 50 cars. Vocals by Frederick Douglas. Cruising music and door prizes wwill be available. Food will be available at the campground. All antiques, muscle cars, modifieds, hot rods and motorcycles are welcome. Complementary swimming privileges will be provided to all cruisers. Proceeds benefit Mostly Mutts No Kill Dog Shelter.
