THREE INJURED DURING TWO-VEHICLE CRASH IN RUSH TOWNSHIP (5-8-2015)

Two women and a man were injured during a two-vehicle crash yesterday (Friday, May 8, 2015) along SR309 near the intersection of Fairview Street in Rush Township. One of which was airlifted to a hospital for unknown injuries.
According to Rush Township Police Sergeant Duane Frederick, a 17-year-old female from Coadale was driving a 2007 Dodge when she turned into the path of a 1997 GMC driven by Brian Niece, 44, Tamaqua. Niece was traveling south in the right lane when the female was turning onto Fairview Street from north on SR309.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
41-year-old Tina Rehrig of Tamaqua was a passenger in the GMC. Rehrig was airlifted to Cedar Crest Hospital.
Frederick added that the 17-year-old female was at fault. The incident is still under investigation.
Kline Township Police and other emergency services assisted at the scene.
