“Understand that people are trying to send you a message, so that you don’t learn something the hard way…. Life is about decisions,” said Justen “JD” Hackenberg, Marian’s Director of School Services, to the students. “…Sometimes you make bad decision out of ignorance. Making a bad decision after someone told you it was bad – that is called being stupid or incompetent.”
Principal Sister Bernard, Hackenberg, and Rush Township Police Sergeant Duane Frederick praised all the emergency services and officials that took time out of their day to hold a presentation for the students. They included Hometown Fire Company, Ryan Township Ambulance/Rescue, Hometown Fire Police, Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner David Truskowsky, Medivac 7 helicopter, Tamaqua Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer, and others.
