
Two people from Barnesville are facing drug charges after a traffic stop in West Hazleton on Sunday, April 26, 2015.
Information on the West Hazleton Police Department’s Facebook page reads:
“Sunday April 26, around 1:30 AM, an Officer on patrol in the area of South Broad Street noticed a vehicle being driven with unlawful lighting equipment. During the course of a traffic stop officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle.
The search revealed a substantial amount of narcotics along with numerous illicit prescription medications. A six-year-old child inside the vehicle was released to a family member a short time after the incident began.
Cory Bezdziecki, 30, of Barnesville, faces one felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, one felony count of manufacturing a controlled substance, one misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child, one misdemeanor count of possessing drug paraphernalia, four misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and one summary count for unlawful lighting equipment.
Julian David Jackson, 21, of Barnesville, faces one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bezdziecki appeared in front of Magistrate Dixon for a formal arraignment. Dixon set bail at $75,000 straight. Unable to post bail, Bezdziecki was transported to Luzerne County Correctional Facility where he awaits a preliminary hearing.
West Hazleton Police were assisted by Butler Township Police during this incident.”
