
Two Tamaqua women were recognized for their hard work, community dedication and caring generosity during the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Community Dinner held Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Mountain Valley Golf Course in Barnesville.
During the event, Amanda Woodring received this year’s Joseph M. Plasko Citizenship Award, while Mrs. Lynn Elko, owner of Emma’s Friends, Soaps & Lotions in Tamaqua, received the first annual Business Person of the Year Award.
Both also received awards and citations from State Senator Dave Argall, State Representative Jerry Knowles, and Schuylkill County Commissioner George Halcovage.
