Longtime photographer Scott Herring donated the second of two laminated photo murals to the Tamaqua Anthracite Model Railroad Club (TAMRC) today (Thursday, April 16, 2015). Each photo collage mural contains about 40 photos related to coal trains, all of which taken by Herring between 1973 and 2013.
Both collages are displayed on the wall to the club, which is located across from the Elks Lodge in Tamaqua.
Herring, who has been taking photos of the anthracite region for over 40 years, grew up in Tamaqua’s Dutch Hill.
Herring is also called Starkkohlenfelder of Pennsylvania, “The Last Anthracite Photographer”.
