Tamaqua Water Authority said that some Tamaqua Borough residents might have discolored water today (Wednesday, April 8, 2015) following water line maintenance work this morning. Work leader Jay Stidham noted that work required the shutdown of a stress reducing valve. This could cause discolored water for some residents.
Stidham added that the water is safe to use and discoloration is temporary and should only last about 24 hours or less.
Some residents in the Dutch Hill section noted discolored water last night in Tamaqua. That is probably related to firefighter hydrant training, since they utilized a Dutch Hill hydrant last night.
