EVENING OF IRISH SONG AND DANCE SUNDAY AT TAMAQUA COMMUNITY ARTS CENTER; FEATURING TROUBLES AND MCCORMICK SCHOOL OF DANCE

3-15-2015, Troubles, Community Arts Center, TamaquaOrganizers are holding An Evening of Irish Song and Dance on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center. The event, which features Troubles & the McCormick School of Dance, starts at 7 PM.
Cost is $10 at the door. Refreshments will be available.
The Troubles are an Irish American band with musical roots in rock, traditional Irish, bluegrass, and blues from the Ashland, PA area.  The band’s name is taken from the famous conflicts that occurred in Northern Ireland during the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, and was inspired by the band members Irish family roots. In addition to traditional Irish pub songs and ballads, The Troubles bring a blend of coal mining, blues, folk, bluegrass, vintage rock, and original music to their sets.  Band members consist of Paul Noon, lead vocal and string instrumentalist, Loretta Murphy, vocals/tin whistle/percussions, and Patrick Miggins, guitar/mandolin,banjo,Irish fiddle.
The evening will begin with the Irish dancers from the McCormick school of Dance located out of New Philadelphia, PA.  The McCormick School of Irish Dance is owned and operated by Caitlin (McCormick) Albon, TCRG. It is the only certified dance school in Schuylkill County by An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha (CLRG). The McCormick School participates in local performances as well as competitions. The school is a proud member of CLRG, IDTANA, and the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society of Schuylkill County.
