Tamaqua YMCA and other branches are coming together on Saturday, March 14, 2015 during their Annual “Marsh” Madness Polar Bear Plunge and Trail Run to be held at Blue Marsh Lake in Leesport to help raise donations towards youth programs. Both events are held at the Dry Brook’s Day Use Area, located off of Palisades Drive. (GPS location is 1301 Palisades Drive in Leesport).
The day starts off with an optional Green Leg’s and Hamstring’s 5K race. Registration begins at 8 AM. Race starts at 9 AM. Race starts and ends at beach house. Register ONLINE or click HERE to download a registration form (will also be available day of race).
Main event for the day is the YMCA’S St. Patty’s Marsh Madness Plunge For Kids at the lake. Registration begins at 10 AM. Plunge starts at 11 AM. Tamaqua YMCA members are encouraged (but not required) to come dressed in “old”, “classic” or “retro” prom dress attire. You don’t have to plunge or come in costume. Simply come and show your support.
Food, refreshments and awards will follow at Sinking Spring Family YMCA (4920 Penn Avenue in Sinking Spring).
