Volunteers with the Relay for Life of Tamaqua and Surrounding Communities held their annual Power Of Purple Party yesterday evening (Friday, March 6, 2015) at the West Penn Fire Company. The family-friendly event, free to cancer survivors, included food, DJ, raffles, dancing and more.
It also served as a kick-off to the Relay For Life, set for Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Tamaqua Area School District Sports Stadium. The goal for the relay is $75,000/24 teams/245. Current total is $7,828/22 teams/108 people.
Relay leaders this year are Rosalee Rehrig (People Lead), Matt Moyer (Experience Lead), and Marsha Resch (Fund the Cure Lead).
Leaders encourage anyone to get involved with the relay.
