C.A.R.E.S. HOLDS FIRST DAY OF NEW SATURDAY BOWLING LEAGUE AT SPARE TIME LANES

C.A.R.E.S. held the first day of their new Saturday Bowling League recently at Spare Time Bowling Lanes in Hometown. The league meets every second and fourth Saturday of each month. Bowling times are 12 PM until 2 PM. Cost is $3.50 per game and shoes are included in the cost.

Founders, Lori Miller and Sheila Davison, started this family-owned, local business to address a community need for services after serving for over 17 years with a large, non-profit organization headquartered in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, where they helped to establish community day programs, Lifesharing (an alternative to group homes), and developed mental health programs, youth at-risk programs and other self-determined services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

C.A.R.E.S., Inc. provides a family-oriented, strength-based Adult Day program that focuses on maximizing independence, life-skills, decision making abilities, personal growth and vocational training. We emphasize valuing and respecting diversity as being a core component of all of our services. Our participants learn and experience other cultures as part of the program on an ongoing basis. As each culture is explored, activities, food, music, traditions and life styles are encountered and embraced.

C.A.R.E.S. Tamaqua Day Services is located at 139 W. Broad St. Tamaqua, PA. 18252.

The mission of C.A.R.E.S. is to provide high quality services and supports that maximize each individual’s potential, opportunities, relationships, community involvement, and health and wellness. Our vision is to create community‐based services empowering individuals by creating an environment where the individual’s rights and culture are recognized and respected with services that are self‐determined, person centered and family focused.
